FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Pittsburgh, PA – Fresh off the success of their 2013 short film “Meet Your Maker,” cousins Pat and Justin Francart are moving forward with their next project “Regular Paintings.” “Meet Your Maker” has been screened in Pittsburgh and at the Boston Sci-Fi Film Festival and is now being considered in film festivals worldwide. With many of the original team members that made their first project, and now operating under the name Francart & Francart Pictures, they return to make their next Pittsburgh-based movie “Regular Paintings.”
Slated for production in July 2014, “Regular Paintings” is a short mystery drama film about a contentedly directionless bartender who faces his insecurities when he must choose between stability and intimacy or the warm, boozy embrace of the eternal regulars that haunt his bar.“This film owes its origin to a conversation that I had with friends over drinks and is a love letter to every character you’ve ever ran into at the bar” says writer, director Justin Francart.
With a local filmmaking crew, the Francarts hope to use this latest project to continue building the momentum from “Meet Your Maker” toward even bigger projects. “We think it is very important to have a team that we work with for every one of our projects now and in the future” say’s Pat. “We really feel that it is important to work with all local artists. We all call Pittsburgh home and it is a great way for us all to stay on the same page throughout the project.”
Fracart & Francart Pictures has again turned to Kickstarter to help raise their $10,000 budget. Kickstarter provides an alternative to traditional fundraising by offering a platform for soliciting many small donations from individuals. The fundraising campaign for “Regular Paintings” will run from May 5 to June 5and will also include a benefit event at Wigle Whiskey on Tuesday June 3.
