TRUE REST FLOAT SPA PRESENTS MILITARY AND FIRST RESPONDER APPRECIATION DAY – all veterans, active military personnel, and first responders enjoy a complementary one-hour flotation session on the 11th of each month.

PITTSBURGH (October 8, 2019) – In order to demonstrate our appreciation and support for our armed forces and first responders who selflessly put their lives on the line, the 11th of each month has been designated by True REST Float Spa as Military and First Responder Appreciation Day.  This Veterans Day, November 11, 2019, and the 11th of each month, True REST Float Spa offers complementary one-hour floats to all veterans, active military, and first responders.  Floating is proven to be a drug free way to ease anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and improve sleep.  Participating True REST Float Spa locations in the Pittsburgh area are: True REST Float Spa – Wexford located at 12041 Perry Highway Wexford, PA 15090 and True REST Float Spa – South Hills located at 2101 Greentree Road Pittsburgh, PA 15220.

There are few stressors in life like the ones our military and first responders face on a daily basis.  For the people who literally put their lives on the line for the freedom and safety we take for granted every day, we say thank you and want to show you our appreciation.   Each month, it is True REST’s goal to completely book every pod full of veterans, active military, and first responders in honor of their service.   To date. True REST Float Spa Pittsburgh locations have floated more than 130 veterans, active military, and first responders through their Military and First Responder Appreciation Day program.

Want to get a jump on your holiday shopping? Leading up to Veterans Day, True REST Float Spa Pittsburgh locations will be holding their first One for One Challenge in which True REST Float Spa will donate a one-hour float to a veteran, active military personnel, or first responder for each gift card purchased.  Gift cards can be purchased between October 21, 2019 – November 11, 2019.  Gift cards are able to be purchased at either True REST Float Spa location in Pittsburgh or online at www.truerestfloatpittsburgh.com.  All donated floats will be provided to veterans, active military, and first responders in need of a one-hour flotation session on days other than the 11th of each month.  Get yourself or someone special the gift of stress and pain relief and give the gift of floating to a local veteran or first responder.

About Flotation Therapy

Flotation therapy occurs in specially designed pods that hold the guest in 180 gallons of warm, skin temperature water supersaturated with 1,200 pounds of Epsom salt.  It is a powerful therapy that provides the perfect, natural environment to let the brain and body heal at a rapid pace.  It has been clinically shown to reduce blood pressure, stress, anxiety, and physical pain, as well as improve sleep quality and increase feelings of serenity and well-being.  Celebrities like Steph Curry, Tom Brady, Joe Rogan, Elle Macpherson, and Jeff Bridges have embraced flotation therapy as a means to stay physically and mentally healthy.

Clinical research investigating flotation therapy have largely reported beneficial effects on stress and pain related conditions, including but not limited to headaches; neck and back pain; reduced stress levels; and reduction in and/or alleviation of anxiety and depression.   Several studies and clinical trials in the United States, Germany, and Sweden suggest that flotation therapy is a safe and effective practice for the rapid reduction of stress, chronic pain, and anxiety.  Clinical trials are currently underway to investigate the long-term impact of flotation therapy in patients with anxiety disorders, anorexia nervosa, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, and insomnia.
