Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force to Hold “PrEP Rally”


November 25, 2015 – Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) Education and Awareness Event to Help Reduce the Spread of HIV in the Pittsburgh Community

WHAT: A pep rally inspired community event focused on raising PrEP awareness for HIV/AIDS prevention through talks from HIV specialists, PrEP providers, and community members. A drag queen cheer squad with Janet Granite and friends, community resource tables, free HIV and STD testing, refreshments, and a vogue dance showcase.

WHO: Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force

WHY: PrEP (Pre-exposure Prophylaxis) is a preventative medical measure for individuals who are at risk of contracting HIV. Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force wants to bring awareness to the Pittsburgh population about their sexual health options! The PrEP Rally will serve to educate the community on what they can do in order to prevent the spread of HIV, through the utilization of an educated and upbeat team of HIV and PrEP specialist speakers, in order to reduce the number of new infections in our region!

As the oldest and largest AIDS service organization in Southwestern Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force (PATF) is dedicated to supporting and empowering all individuals living with HIV/AIDS, and to be relentless in preventing the spread of infection.
