Horror Book Reading at Awesome Books Downtown

Book Reading Featuring Local, Emerging Horror Authors

Pittsburgh, PA: On Sunday, June 24 from 3-4 PM, the Awesome Books downtown location will host local authors Lucy Leitner and Bobby Shupeck. Both first-time authors wrote novels that were recently released by Necro Publications in part of the Fresh Flesh series. Miss Leitner will read from her zombie comedy novel Working Stiffs while Mr. Shupeck will read from his book Red Town Lost.

Working Stiffs is a hilarious, action-packed tale of survival in the fast-paced world of pharmaceuticals. Something has gone horribly wrong in the Pro-Well Pharmaceuticals factory, and ex-meth dealer Marshall Owens, the company’s owner and drug genius, must keep the surrounding Pittsburgh area from finding out. Unfortunately, the undead assembly line workers have other plans. The infection spreads and chaos reigns supreme as the surviving Pro-Well employees battle their way through offices with whatever weapons they can scrounge from the supply closet. They must get outside. But they don’t know that The General is out there amassing a shambling, rotting army of Pittsburgh’s finest.

Red Town Lost chronicles the efforts of a terrified man to discover the secret of what happened the night the building burned, and  in the process unraveling four harrowing tales revolving around four unforgettable individuals and their own unique trials and tribulations that are somehow connected to the burned out building. Unfortunately, the man will discover very quickly that the stories are not just connected with his morbid discovery, but in fact may hold horrifying implications for the man and his very soul!

Awesome Books, located at 929 Liberty Ave. in the heart of the Cultural District, will provide light refreshments. The authors will have copies of their books on hand.
