PITTSBURGH, PA – ‘Speaking of…’ recent recipient of the Heinz Small Arts Initiative, marks the beginning of their 2012 season with an artistic exposition, this February the 4th at the New Hazlett Theater on Pittsbrugh’s Northside at 8:00 PM.
Featuring an exclusive preview of Bodiography Contemporary Ballet’s 10th anniversary show alongside story teller Jim Daniels, the stylizing of poet Nikki Allen and spoken word impresario Tameka Cage-Conley, the show also spotlights new choreography from Texture, hip-hop act Vie Boheme, and the string cyclone that is Cello Fury.
‘Speaking of…’ burst onto the Pittsburgh arts scene a little more than a year ago, and since then has featuring a National Book Award Winner, dubstep/ballet fusion, Dj’s, dancers, and Cave Canem fellows amid a series of events as difficult to label as they were diverse. Called ‘one of the hottest literary events in town’ by the City Paper, ‘Speaking of…’ seeks to expand upon its ever-evolving and always eclectic vision this season.
