Pittsburgh, PA — The national office of SCORE “Mentors to America’s Small Business” honored SCORE Pittsburgh recently with two awards for outstanding performance in 2019, the Platinum Leadership, and Diversity and Inclusion Awards. These awards recognize SCORE Pittsburgh for achieving service excellence in support of local small businesses.
SCORE Pittsburgh has been a part of the local small business community for more than 50 years. In 2019 the chapter’s volunteers provided free face-to-face mentoring and low-cost workshops for more than a thousand aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners.
“We are honored to receive recognition from the national office of SCORE,” says Mark Fallek, SCORE Chapter Co-Chair. “Our 50-plus volunteers have a passion for business. They are committed to the success of the greater Pittsburgh area small businesses. We helped start 161 businesses through our efforts last year.”

Since 1964, SCORE has helped more than 11 million aspiring entrepreneurs. Each year, SCORE provides small business mentoring and workshops to more than 350,000 new and growing small businesses. More than 10,000 business experts volunteer as mentors in 300 chapters serving local communities with entrepreneur education to help grow small businesses.
