Allies for Health + Wellbeing Board of Directors Elects New Board President, Dr. Michael Madden

Pittsburgh, PA – Allies for Health + Wellbeing (Allies), formerly Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force, the region’s most comprehensive provider of HIV treatment and support, is pleased to announce the ALLIES Board of Directors has elected Dr. Michael Madden the organization Board President as of January 2018. Dr.Madden is supported by board officers: Vice President Ron Valdiserri, Treasurer Adam Falcone and Secretary Carlos Torres.

Dr. Michael Madden held the position as Chief Medical Officer of Gateway Health, a leading Medicaid and Medicare Advantage managed care organization (MCO) for more than a decade, and recently retired from the organization in April 2017.

Dr. Madden’s many accomplishments include collaborating with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) and other health plans to advance the development of opioid use clinics and treatment for treating addicted babies and their mothers, including establishing “Centers of Excellence” as well as working to launch the Telephonic Psychiatric Consultation Service (TIPS) in collaboration with other Pennsylvania MCOs.

Since coming to Pittsburgh more than ten years ago, Dr. Madden has been a steadfast supporter of Allies for Health + Wellbeing, formerly Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force. Prior to being elected president, Dr. Madden served on the Allies for Health + Wellbeing Board of Directors for five years and has been an integral part of the agency’s expansion.

Along with Dr. Madden’s election as president, the Allies Board of Directors elected four new members. Joining the board are Stephanie Bucklew, Principal of SLB Consulting, John Edwards, Vice President Solutioning at HM Solutions, Susan Orr, Director of Development at Sojourner House, and Dr. Daphne Parker, Manager at the Positive Health Clinic.

In addition to his role as president, Dr. Madden and his husband Ron Senerius are serving as Honoary Chairs of Allies for Health + Wellbeing’s inaugural Allies Ball.
