For Immediate Release – Volunteers come in all shapes and sizes and the power of a helping hand or cheerful smile to those in need is extraordinary. National Volunteer Week was established in 1974 to acknowledge the impact volunteers make in a community. In conjunction with National Volunteer Week 2013, April 21-27, St. Barnabas Health System is hosting a Volunteer Open House from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23 at The Washington Place at St. Barnabas, 5847 Meridian Road. Volunteers of all ages, talents and abilities are sought to assist with day to day operations and various programs held at St. Barnabas’ Gibsonia and Valencia campuses.
Community members attending the open house will get the chance to meet with representatives from the various entities of St. Barnabas Health System to learn more about the assistance needed. Areas seeking volunteers include the Kean Theatre, St. Barnabas Charities, St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas, The Arbors at St. Barnabas and St. Barnabas Hospice. For more information please contact the Gibsonia campus at 724-443-0700 or Valencia campus at 724-625-4000.
