Sprout is making $1,000 awards to Connect Your City – Applications due Nov. 30

On Monday, November 5th, a diverse group of 50 Pittsburgh social innovators gathered at the WYEP Community Broadcast Center to participate in facilitated discussions about how best to connect their passions and communities.  Inspired by the lively and collaborative dialogue, The Sprout Fund has issued a Request for a Proposals to Connect Your City.

Sprout is seeking $1,000 proposals from organizations and individuals that will showcase the variety of ways that small projects can increase connections in Pittsburgh – between communities, cultures, and generations.

Applicants are encouraged to use this opportunity to try out creative ideas that build deep and meaningful connections between communities – be they geographic, cultural, age-defined, or interest-based.  By streamlining the process with an online application, same-month decision-making, and readily-available resources, Sprout will seed 10-15 new projects that are ready to get started right away in early 2013.

Proposals are due by 5pm on November 30, 2012 and can be submitted online.  There is an optional information session from noon-1pm on Friday, November 9th at Sprout’s Offices.
