New Monument at Bushy Run Battlefield Being Designed

In celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the Battle of Bushy Run, a monument honoring the men that lost their lives at the battle has now been commissioned by the Bushy Run Battlefield Heritage Society (BRBHS).

The monument will be placed at the site of the first day’s action that occurred on August 5, 1763.  It will consist of three granite pedestals and three bronze statues representing the American, British and Native American forces that fought at the Battle of Bushy Run.  World-renowned artists Robert Griffing and John Buxton will design the monument concept and bronze sculptor Wayne Hyde will bring their design to life.

The BRBHS has begun a fundraising campaign for the monument through the sale of engraved bricks.  The bricks make great gifts and can be purchased below to honor family, friends,   organizations, businesses or pets.  Donations are tax-deductible and contributions in any amounts are welcomed.  Bricks can be purchased at the Visitor Center at Bushy Run Battlefield or at www.bushyrunbattlefield.com.

The monument and memorial courtyard will be unveiled on August 3rd, 2013 at the beginning of the Anniversary weekend of August 3rd-4th, 2013.
