PITTSBURGH, PA (May 18, 2012) – Since the 2010 inaugural year, Glitzburgh: Glamour Meets Giving, A Black & Gold Affair has raised approximately $35,000 for children in need and their families. The outpouring of support from the Pittsburgh community has always been staggering, and it just goes to show how strongly The Steel City stands behind amazing causes. In 2012, the Glitzburgh team is back with an even bigger and better event than ever before! Get ready to GET YOUR GLITZ ON in true BLACK and GOLD fashion, on Sunday May 20, 2012 at 6 p.m. at Whim Pittsburgh in Station Square, benefiting the Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh.

The star-studded charity fashion show will feature some familiar faces, as well as some new additions. Glitzburgh 2012 will boast a rockin’ performance my Pittsburgh’s own Of An Empire, amazing runway looks by Anna DeLattre, ModCloth, Jewelry N’at, Abby Baldwin, American Me, My Salvation, Love Tatum, and many, many more! This year, event sponsors include R&D Holdings, LLC., The Cotherman Group, The DeLattre Corp., Pittsburgh Brewing Company, Valley Tire Co., Bob Evans, Luciano’s, La Cucina Flegrea, Caruso’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, CandOr Creative, and Christian Dior beauty products, just to name a few.

It’s not a Glitzburgh fashion show if there aren’t some big Pittsburgh celebrities taking to the runway in support of The Children’s Institute. This year, James Harrison and Chris Carter of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the 2012 Miss PA USA Teen, WPXI’s Vince Sims, Bryan Humphreys of These Lions, Elena LaQuatra, and Gina Cerilli (among many others) will be struttin’ their stuff in this season’s hottest looks! To top it all off, there will be auction items, graciously donated by Pittsburgh community members and businesses, helping to make the night really shine. Whim Pittsburgh in Station Square will be shining on May 20th with DJ Mike Ley spinning all of the hottest tracks from The ‘Burgh and beyond, while Flick from 96.1 KISS Emcee’s the evening in style and flare! Glitzburgh 2012 is also hosting a best-dressed contest too, for some added pizzazz.

The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh is an independent, licensed nonprofit organization that provides a comprehensive approach to pediatric rehabilitation: The Hospital, The Day School and Project STAR. The Hospital includes a 72-bed inpatient unit and numerous outpatient rehabilitation services for children and young adults. The Day School is an Approved Private School for children ages 2 to 21 with neurological impairments, including autism. Project STAR promotes the right of all children, especially those with physical, emotional and intellectual disabilities, to grow in a safe, nurturing, lasting family.

The Glitzburgh: Glamour Meets Giving, A Black & Gold Affair team invites you all to enjoy a glamorous and glimmering night of philanthropy, fashion, and of course, fun!
