Strength in Numbers: A benefit concert for St. Jude to raise funds for kids battling cancer

For Immediate Release – Pittsburgh, PA – A benefit concert for St. Jude organized by Chux Beta, a Pittsburgh-based rock band, will be held on November 4 at 8 pm at Altar Bar in Pittsburgh’s Strip District. The event will raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, one of the world’s premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.

“Every child saved at St. Jude means children saved around the world – a direct result of cutting-edge research and treatment that set the standard in treating deadly childhood diseases,” said Ryan Dunn, lead singer of Chux Beta and the visionary for this event. “Through events like Strength in Numbers: A benefit concert for St. Jude the Pittsburgh rock music scene supports the St. Jude mission of finding cures and saving children everywhere.”

Hosted by radio personality Tim Benz, Strength in Numbers brings together seven Pittsburgh rock bands for one night of incredible music to raise awareness and fundraising support for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, featuring Chux Beta, Through These Walls, Dethlehem, Fist Fight in the Parking Lot, Vesta, Atlas & a prior i.

100% of the $15 ticket will be donated to St. Jude, along with all proceeds from a limited release complication album. Featuring the bands on the bill, along with several other local bands, this cd will be available for one night only at the event. Additional support will be raised thought a silent auction and direct donations. Tickets can be purchased here or directly from one of the participating bands.

St. Jude depends on community-based fundraising programs like Strength in Numbers.  At St. Jude, families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance and no child is ever denied treatment because of the family’s inability to pay. The daily operating cost for St. Jude is $1.5 million, which is primarily covered by public contributions.

Strength in Numbers: A benefit concert for St. Jude is supported by Treelady Studios, Altar Bar and Drusky Entertainment, Digital Video Development, Eyes to the Sky Films, The Pittsburgh Scene.com and Ink Division, among a host of individuals who have come together to make this event possible.
